Permeable Pavement and Native Plantings

The U.S. Green Building Council
New York Upstate Chapter
Finger Lakes/Southern Tier Region is pleased to present an overview of Permeable Pavement and Native Plantings.

This month’s chapter meeting focuses on two methods of reducing storm-water run-off – permeable pavement and native plantings. EPS - Enviromental Paving Solutions, LLC will discuss the benefits of permeable pavement and its applications. Flexi-Pave is a porous pavement made with shredded passenger car tires and a urethane bonding agent. Material is mixed on-site, poured in place and finished with concrete floats. No joints or expansion are needed because the product acts as one large expansion joint and won't crack. Applications include: driveways, sidewalks, patios, decks, docks, pool surrounds, garden paths, erosion control, tree surrounds, parking lots, logos, walking and biking trails, golf cart paths, embankment stabilization, and high-maintenance areas.  Plus enjoy a guided tour along Bear Trail in Upper Buttermilk Falls State Park to learn the native trees, shrubs and plants that can be used to landscape LEED buildings in the Finger Lakes.

Beverages and light snacks will be provided..
