An Introduction to Porous Pavements

Presented by: Erin Reynolds, R.L.A., ASLA
Landscape Architect, Klepper, Hahn & Hyatt

Porous pavements are becoming a popular method of green infrastructure used to meet NYSDEC's stormwater requirements and reduce runoff from impervious surfaces. Join us to learn more about these materials and how to apply them to your current site or during the design of your next project.

Learning Objectives:
  • Identify the five general types of porous pavements.
  • Distinguish between using porous pavement as a conveyance system and as an infiltration system.
  • Assess considerations which may influence the selection of porous pavement.
  • Employ maintenance techniques to extend the longevity of porous pavements.
